하나님 앞에 나아오다 

1또 모세에게 이르시되 너는 아론과 나답과 아비후와 이스라엘 장로 칠십 명과 함께 여호와께로 올라와 멀리서 경배하고 2너 모세만 여호와께 가까이 나아오고 그들은 가까이 나아오지 말며 백성은 너와 함께 올라오지 말지니라

 언약체결 의식 

 3모세가 와서 여호와의 모든 말씀과 그의 모든 율례를 백성에게 전하매 그들이 한 소리로 응답하여 이르되 여호와께서 말씀하신 모든 것을 우리가 준행하리이다 4모세가 여호와의 모든 말씀을 기록하고 이른 아침에 일어나 산 아래에 제단을 쌓고 이스라엘 열두 지파대로 열두 기둥을 세우고 5이스라엘 자손의 청년들을 보내어 여호와께 소로 번제와 화목제를 드리게 하고 6모세가 피를 가지고 반은 여러 양푼에 담고 반은 제단에 뿌리고

 언약서 낭독과 피뿌림 의식 

 7언약서를 가져다가 백성에게 낭독하여 듣게 하니 그들이 이르되 여호와의 모든 말씀을 우리가 준행하리이다 8모세가 그 피를 가지고 백성에게 뿌리며 이르되 이는 여호와께서 이 모든 말씀에 대하여 너희와 세우신 언약의 피니라

 언약체결 축하 식사 

 9모세와 아론과 나답과 아비후와 이스라엘 장로 칠십 인이 올라가서 10이스라엘의 하나님을 보니 그의 발 아래에는 청옥을 편 듯하고 하늘 같이 청명하더라 11하나님이 이스라엘 자손들의 존귀한 자들에게 손을 대지 아니하셨고 그들은 하나님을 뵙고 먹고 마셨더라

 언약 돌판을 받으러 산에 오르는 모세 

 12여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 너는 산에 올라 내게로 와서 거기 있으라 네가 그들을 가르치도록 내가 율법과 계명을 친히 기록한 돌판을 네게 주리라 13모세가 그의 부하 여호수아와 함께 일어나 모세가 하나님의 산으로 올라가며 14장로들에게 이르되 너희는 여기서 우리가 너희에게로 돌아오기까지 기다리라 아론과 훌이 너희와 함께 하리니 무릇 일이 있는 자는 그들에게로 나아갈지니라 하고 15모세가 산에 오르매 구름이 산을 가리며 16여호와의 영광이 시내 산 위에 머무르고 구름이 엿새 동안 산을 가리더니 일곱째 날에 여호와께서 구름 가운데서 모세를 부르시니라 17산 위의 여호와의 영광이 이스라엘 자손의 눈에 맹렬한 불 같이 보였고 18모세는 구름 속으로 들어가서 산 위에 올랐으며 모세가 사십 일 사십 야를 산에 있으니라

1절) ‘70’이란 숫자는 전체성을 나타낸다. 따라서 장로 70명은 이스라엘 전체를 대표한다고 볼 수 있다.

1Then he said to Moses, “Come up to the LORD, you and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and worship from afar.2 Moses alone shall come near to the LORD, but the others shall not come near, and the people shall not come up with him.”3 Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD and all the rules. And all the people answered with one voice and said, “All the words that the LORD has spoken we will do.”4 And Moses wrote down all the words of the LORD. He rose early in the morning and built an altar at the foot of the mountain, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.5 And he sent young men of the people of Israel, who offered burnt offerings and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen to the LORD.6 And Moses took half of the blood and put it in basins, and half of the blood he threw against the altar.7 Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it in the hearing of the people. And they said, “All that the LORD has spoken we will do, and we will be obedient.”8 And Moses took the blood and threw it on the people and said, “Behold the blood of the covenant that the LORD has made with you in accordance with all these words.”9 Then Moses and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up,10 and they saw the God of Israel. There was under his feet as it were a pavement of sapphire stone, like the very heaven for clearness.11 And he did not lay his hand on the chief men of the people of Israel; they beheld God, and ate and drank.12 The LORD said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain and wait there, that I may give you the tablets of stone, with the law and the commandment, which I have written for their instruction.”13 So Moses rose with his assistant Joshua, and Moses went up into the mountain of God.14 And he said to the elders, “Wait here for us until we return to you. And behold, Aaron and Hur are with you. Whoever has a dispute, let him go to them.”15 Then Moses went up on the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.16 The glory of the LORD dwelt on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day he called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.17 Now the appearance of the glory of the LORD was like a devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the sight of the people of Israel.18 Moses entered the cloud and went up on the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
